FAA Minimum Requirements:
Total Time: 250 hours
- At least 100 hours
in power aircraft of which at least 50 hours is in Airplane category
- At least
100 hours of PIC time which must include
> At least 50 hours in Airplane category
> At least 50 hours cross-country time of which at least 10 is in
Airplane category
Dual Time: 20 hours which must include
- 10 hours
of training in a complex ASEL (airplane single-engine land)
- 10 hours of flight
training by reference to instruments of which at least 5 is in ASEL
- One
cross-country in day VFR conditions of at least 2 hours of more than 100
nm from origin
- One
cross-country in night VFR conditions of at least 2 hours of more than 100
nm from origin
- 3 hours flight training
within the preceding 60 days of the practical test
Solo Time: 10 hours which must include
- One cross country in
day VFR of at least 300 nm total distance which includes
> Landings at 3 airports, one of which must have at least a 250 nm leg
- 5 hours night VFR with
10 takeoffs and landings to a full stop at a controlled airport |
